  • A time-of-flight sensor can of better accuracy cover distance in taking pictures. That helps create better bokeh effects on portrait shots. It also means that the iPhone 12 will be in a better position to support the augmented reality app, which has been an increasing area of focus at Apple in recent years.
  • A new report highlights the 3D camera sensors.
Bloomberg's article from January claims that that apple could introduce depth-sensing-time-of-flight cameras in 2020 capable of scanning entire rooms. Apple is also working on a periscope-like telephoto lens that should provide a longer zoom range than previous iPhones.

Design

The iPhone 12 2020 will feature a metal frame design that is similar to the iPhone 4. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the new iPhones will use more complex segmentation design and new trenching and injection molding procedures.

The whole design will be just like that of the iPhone 4 with a squared-edged stainless steel frame, which will replace the current rounded stainless steel frame and it will continue to use the front and back glass for the body of the device. Mac Otakara a Japanese site says, that the 6.7 inches will have a thickness of 7.4mm which is thinner than the 8.1 iPhone 11 pro max.

Battery

The low battery capacity of Apple’s iPhone has been a major concern to the users. The iPhones coming in 2020 starting from the iPhone 12 could have some gain in battery capacity as Apple suppliers are working on a custom battery protection module that’s 50 percent smaller and thinner than the same component in previous iPhones. That could free up valuable space on the iPhone.
